Dubai has announced two days of free parking in celebration of the UAE National Day holiday, giving residents a little extra convenience during this festive time. Monday and Tuesday, December 2 and 3, all public parking will be free of charge, except for multi-storey parking facilities, according to an announcement from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on Friday.
The announcement coincides with the extended four-day weekend for many UAE residents, as government authorities declared December 2 and 3 as public holidays for both the private and public sectors. During this period, private schools, nurseries, and universities in Dubai will be closed, with normal classes set to resume on Wednesday, December 4.
The UAE National Day, now called Eid Al Etihad, celebrates the unification of the Emirates in 1971. This year marks the 53rd anniversary of the event. Official celebrations will be held in Al Ain, with the country’s leaders and rulers gathering to commemorate this historic occasion.
