Temperature dips in the UAE, raising few concerns

As the UAE experiences a dip in the temperature, residents are reporting an increase in health issues. Common complaints include back pain, dry skin, and dandruff.

A local resident from Sharjah explained, “When winter arrives in the UAE, many people fall ill due to the sudden change in weather. The low humidity and air conditioning further escalate the situation, leading to dry skin, hair fall, and other related problems.”

Dr Mais M Mauwfak from Thumbay Hospital confirmed this trend to Khaleej Times, noting an uptick in patient visits during the winter months, despite the relatively mild temperatures compared to other countries. She highlighted the potential for vitamin D deficiency due to reduced sun exposure, which can contribute to various health issues.

To mitigate these problems, experts recommend staying hydrated, using moisturizers, and spending some time outdoors to soak up sunlight. It’s also advisable to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice and treatment.
