As the UAE’s luxury market continues to boom, residents are increasingly investing in high-end interior design. A recent study suggests that 30% of UAE residents are getting choosy with the kind of interiors they pick for their homes. As we enter the last quarter, let’s explore the top trends that have dominated the UAE market and anticipate what’s in store for 2025.

Top Interior Design Trends For 2024-25

Aleksandra Mojse, Founder and MD of Moy Design Studio, highlighted that the UAE is experiencing a surge in demand for luxury home décor items, reflecting the country’s affluent population and its residents’ desire for exclusivity.

“Yet, there is also a growing appetite for customization and comfort,” she said, adding, “For 2025, the residential interior design landscape is evolving towards spaces that are not only visually captivating but also functional, sustainable, and highly personalized.” Mojse shared some emerging trends gaining popularity in the UAE market.

Biophilic Design and Natural Elements

Nature-inspired design continues to be at the forefront, with biophilic elements integrated into interiors to enhance wellness and create a sense of calm. Large windows, indoor plants, natural textures, and organic shapes are popular as they bring a touch of the outdoors inside. Clients are increasingly seeking spaces that feel grounded, with earthy tones and materials like wood, stone, and clay becoming design staples.

 Sustainable Luxury

High-end residential projects are embracing eco-friendly practices, sourcing local and sustainable materials, and emphasizing energy-efficient design. Sustainable luxury doesn’t compromise on elegance; instead, it redefines it with a focus on longevity and responsible choices.

Multi-Functional Spaces

In a post-pandemic world, homeowners are increasingly valuing adaptability within their spaces. The demand for multi-functional rooms is rising, where spaces effortlessly transition between work, relaxation, and social gatherings. Residents request modular furniture, flexible room dividers, and hidden storage solutions that allow their homes to evolve with their needs.

Customized and Curated Personalization

Homeowners are drawn to curated pieces that tell a story – whether that’s artwork sourced from local artisans, family gallery walls, or furniture designed to reflect their tastes. This approach is particularly prominent in private villas, where personalization can extend to every corner of the home.

Wellness-Oriented Interiors

In large developments and private villas alike, there’s an increased interest in features like spa-inspired bathrooms, meditation zones, and home gyms. Sensory-focused details like air quality, lighting, and soundproofing are carefully considered to promote a sense of peace and relaxation, supporting a healthier lifestyle within the comfort of home.

Smart Home Integration

The integration of technology in residential design is moving beyond convenience, aiming to create seamless, intuitive living experiences. From voice-controlled lighting to automated climate control, smart home technology is becoming a standard expectation in high-end projects, and beyond. Clients are drawn to systems that enhance their daily lives, providing both efficiency and personalization with a touch of sophistication.
