The Korean beauty industry has taken the Middle East, particularly the UAE, by storm. Known for its innovative formulations, emphasis on natural ingredients, and rigorous testing, Korean skincare products have become a staple in many beauty routines.
We spoke with Yoo Min Je, Team Manager at Ewell Medical Co, Ltd, Republic of Korea, at the MEIDAM Conference in Dubai, to learn why Korean skincare has gained such popularity in the region. He shared insights on how a significant portion of the population has embraced this trend.
One standout product, the BIJOU Cloud Serum, combines natural K-beauty ingredients like hyaluronic acid and Tremella mushroom. This unique pink serum is not just an ordinary skincare product, it’s formulated to hydrate, moisturize, firm, and promote a jelly-like collagen effect. It has gained a strong reputation worldwide, reflecting the growing global demand for Korean skincare.
Yoo Min Je explains that Korean skincare is seeing a surge in interest due to its focus on natural ingredients, cruelty-free formulations, and a commitment to creating products that are gentle yet effective.
“50% of people in the UAE and Middle Eastern countries are now seeking Korean skincare,” he says, adding, “The main reason for this shift is that many of these products focus on anti-aging, which is highly appealing, especially because Korean people are often perceived as looking much younger than their actual age.”
The demand for Korean beauty products is growing rapidly, as consumers increasingly prioritize skincare solutions that are both effective and aligned with their values, such as cruelty-free practices and the use of natural ingredients.
