With just two days left for the long weekend, UAE residents are marking their calendars. Whether it’s any of the popular spots in the country, people are leaving no stone unturned in being pre-emptive in planning their activities. One major hub is Global Village, and to no surprise, the 53rd Eid Al Etihad celebrations are planned in full swing, fostering the spirit of union with a packed calendar of events and experiences.
Given the traffic congestion in the city, the RTA has also dropped an update to ease the commute for tourists and residents, planning to take the day off at Global Village. Three new bus routes are to be launched on November 29, including Route (108), which starts from Satwa Bus Station to Global Village and vice versa.
“This initiative comes within the framework of supporting the tourism movement by providing a new route that will be added to the other lines to transport Global Village visitors,” noted RTA.

What to look forward to at Global Village?
DECOR: There’s going to be stunning decor and lighting, all reflecting upon the radiant colors of the UAE flag.
CULTURAL PERFORMANCES: The grand theatrical operetta ‘Hawa Emarati’ will see more than 40 artists and performers; to take place twice daily (7.05 pm and 9.40 pm), depicting the story of an Emirati wedding that unfolds before the union and follows the bride and groom as they witness the founding of the UAE in 1971.Â
FIREWORKS: Skies will light up the sky in the hues of the UAE flag. Guests can look forward to a drone show, featuring #ZayedAndRashid national theme. This production, introduced for the first time, will be a standout highlight of Global Village’s celebrations, offering a truly immersive experience for all.
SHOPPING: Shopping gets even better at the Pavilion, the 971 from the Community Pavilion, and the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works Pavilion. The Heritage Village, affiliated with the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center, will also offer a range of shopping options and displays of authentic Emirati handicrafts.
DINING: Guests will have the opportunity to savor authentic traditional Emirati cuisine, including fan favorites such as Luqaimat and Ragag Bread, available at various kiosks across the destination.Â
