Starting January 1, 2025, Thailand will make it easier for travelers, including UAE residents, to apply for a visa. The country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is launching a global e-Visa system that allows applicants to complete the entire process online, without needing to visit an embassy or consulate.

Previously, the e-Visa system was available in limited locations, but with this new rollout, it will be accessible at all 94 Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates General worldwide. The online platform, available at www.thaievisa.go.th, will streamline the visa process and reduce paperwork.

UAE residents will no longer need to visit the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Consulate-General in Dubai to apply for a visa. The e-Visa system is available to tourists, business travelers, and other short-term visitors.

To apply, travelers will need a valid passport, a recent photograph, proof of accommodation in Thailand, and additional documents like a residence permit, bank statement, or salary certificate. The fee for a single-entry, 60-day visa is AED400.

This new system promises faster processing and greater convenience for those planning a trip to Thailand.
