Sports Club To Women’s Beach: Here’s What You Can Expect At Dubai’s New Al Mamzar Corniche Beach

Dubai Municipality has recently awarded contracts for the second phase of the Al Mamzar Beach Development Project, as directed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This phase will concentrate on enhancing the beachfront along the Al Mamzar Corniche. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, with an estimated total cost of AED400 million – aims to create a world-class beach destination that seamlessly integrates with the surrounding environment while prioritizing sustainability and addressing future climate change concerns.

Key Features of the Al Mamzar Corniche Beach Development

  • Dedicated Ladies Beach: A secure and private beach for women with features like night swimming, a sports club, commercial services, and children’s play areas.
  • Integrated Pathways: 1,000 meters of interconnected running, walking, and cycling paths linking Al Mamzar Creek Beach and Al Mamzar Park.
  • Diverse Facilities: Green spaces, a 5,000-square-meter event area, a skateboarding area, children’s play areas, restrooms, beach lounges, and public health and wellness facilities.
  • Smart Services: AI-supported surveillance, drowning rescue technologies, crowd management tools, and smart luggage lockers.
  • Enhanced Commercial Opportunities: Waterfront restaurants, food and beverage outlets, beach seating, and spaces for recreational activities.

Enhancing Dubai’s Position as a Global Tourism Hub

Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, emphasized the project’s alignment with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to make Dubai the world’s best city. He stated that the project reflects Dubai Municipality’s commitment to creating innovative and sustainable infrastructure that supports Dubai’s future ambitions and solidifies its position as a global leader in various sectors.

First Phase of Development Shows Significant Progress

The first phase of the development, which commenced in June last year, has achieved 45% completion. Key features of the first phase include:

  • A 200-meter-long pedestrian pontoon bridge.
  • A 300-meter-long night swimming beach accessible to people of determination.
  • A 5-kilometer walkway and dedicated running and cycling tracks.
  • Three children’s play areas and two recreational zones.
  • Visitor facilities such as barbecue spots and jet ski marinas.
