The weather in the UAE has been experiencing constant fluctuations this week. Heavy rain and thunderstorms hit Ras Al Khaimah early Thursday, bringing strong winds, lightning, and thunder to the region.
Residents woke up to intense weather conditions, with videos of lightning and rain shared widely on social media. Areas like Al Digdaga and Al Hamraniah experienced scattered rainfall, while lighter rain was reported along Emirates Road towards Umm Al Quwain, as well as in Al Jazeera and Al Hamra, starting around 6.20 AM.
Ras Al Khaimah Police have urged residents to stay cautious and adhere to safety measures due to the rainy weather.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) forecasted partly cloudy conditions throughout the day, with cloud cover expected to develop over time, bringing rainfall to coastal, northern, and eastern regions. The weather will also see a gradual drop in temperatures.
NCM reports that this weather will result in changing cloud formations across the country, with some areas experiencing convective clouds that will bring rainfall at varying intensities. Light to moderate winds from the southeast to northeast may strengthen in areas with developing clouds, potentially causing dust and sand to blow, reducing visibility.
The sea is expected to be slight to moderate, but conditions could turn rough in the Arabian Gulf, while the Oman Sea will remain moderate.
