On the evening of January 9th, residents of Sharjah returning from Dubai, were met with heavy rainfall in several areas, including Al Qasimiya, Rolla Clock Tower, Al Nahda, Abu Shagara, and other internal regions of the city. The unexpected downpour took many by surprise, as the UAE weather saw a sudden shift in temperatures.
Many residents reported feeling unusually cold inside their homes. In addition to Sharjah, parts of Ras Al Khaimah also experienced rainfall, contributing to the widespread weather change across the region. The UAE experienced dense fog and a sharp drop in temperatures on the morning of January 10th as well. The lowest temperature recorded was 6.1°C at Jais Mountain in Ras Al Khaimah at 1.30 AM UAE local time.
Foggy weather conditions were reported in several areas, including parts of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Dhafrah, and Al Ain. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued red and yellow alerts, warning motorists to take extra care while driving.
In Dubai, fog was reported in areas such as Al Qudra, Al Minhad, and Ruwayyah. In Abu Dhabi, dense fog affected the Arjan and Razeen areas, while foggy conditions were also noted in Habshan, Hamim, Owtaid, and Basa Dafas in the Al Dhafrah region. Motorists are urged to follow safety measures and exercise caution while traveling through foggy areas.
