Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, the Dubai Civil Defence has unveiled the ambitious ‘1 Billion Readiness’ initiative.
This pioneering program, the largest of its kind in fire safety and hazard prevention, aims to train and raise awareness among 1 billion people globally on fire prevention techniques from 2025 to 2027.
Spearheaded by the UAE, the initiative brings together 34 countries and 18 major firefighting organizations, reinforcing the UAE’s role as a leader in enhancing global safety and security.
A major component of the initiative, the Hope Convoys project, will provide essential support to developing countries by supplying vital firefighting equipment and establishing fire stations to improve emergency preparedness. The project also aims to strengthen international cooperation in the field of safety.
Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi noted, “This initiative will raise global awareness about fire prevention and the importance of safety procedures through comprehensive awareness campaigns.” -WAM
