On the occasion of Emirati Day for Education, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, urged the people of the country to prioritize knowledge and innovation, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and education.

In a social media thread, His Highness wrote, “Emirati Day for Education is an opportunity to recognise the pivotal role of education and the importance of teachers, schools, families, and communities in driving our nation’s progress. As we continue the strategic transformation of education in the UAE, I encourage everyone to embrace knowledge and innovation, and to continually strive to learn and educate, as together we build generations equipped for the future.”

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, also shared that this day reminds people to learn and educate themselves every day.

“Emirati Education Day reminds us to learn and educate every day. From one university in Sheikh Zayed’s time at the beginning of the union to over 80 today, plus 1,000 schools for 1.7 million students, education drives our progress,” he posted on X.

Abu Dhabi’s Media Office also shared a note explaining the significance of the day.

“Emirati Day for Education, marked annually on 28 February, honours the vital role of education in contributing to the UAE’s development and progress across various sectors, emphasising the shared responsibility of all community members in advancing the educational ecosystem,” read the statement.
