Ramadan 2025 is in full swing. While some are grappling with work completion due to reduced working hours, there’s one thing that keeps the rhythm alive: people eagerly awaiting Iftar time to pray and then enjoy delectable food. This year, UAE home chefs are also gearing up to join the spree with tasty recipes that are sure to tantalize the taste buds.

UAE home chefs have agreed that they pre-plan their shopping well in advance to make these mouth-watering dishes for Suhoor and Iftar. Zaara Marziya was quick to tell us her favorite Ramadan dish and why it’s special.

“While I have a collection of many delicious recipes, there is one that holds a particularly special place in my heart: the simple yet nourishing Turri. This recipe is more than just a meal; it is a cherished tradition that takes me back to my childhood. During the winter months of Ramadan, my mother would lovingly prepare Turri for Sehri, ensuring we began our fast with warmth and comfort,” she shared.

Zaara added that the beauty of this dish is in its exceptional nutritional value. “Packed with ingredients that fuel the body and keep energy levels high throughout the long fasting hours, Turri became a staple in our household during Ramadan,” she explained.

Also, Kripa Krishnamani, culinary expert in the UAE, shared, “Ramadan is all about togetherness, and samosas are the perfect snack to share. Making them in batches, folding them while chatting with family, or even sneaking in a taste test before iftar—it’s all part of the fun.”

“I usually start stocking up the essentials a week before Ramadan and plan meals for a seven days, and shop accordingly. So that a lot of money and time is saved,” said Kripa.

“Every weekend, grocery shopping is a must. The amount I spend actually varies. It depends on the dishes I plan for that week. I’m from India and UAE actually feels like a home away from home. The mosque set up tents for Iftar gatherings, and restaurants start their iftar menu, altogether I love this Ramadan vibe. Some dishes are extra special, like biriyani and samosas. I love those. My recent fav is kunafa,” she added.

With splashes of offers – be it retail, food, or anything in between, Ramadan in the UAE is the most awaited time for residents and tourists alike. The internet keeps buzzing about all the things the region has in store, so that everyone can make the most of these auspicious days.
