Some of the non-Schengen countries in Europe, like Turkey, Georgia, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, among others, in recent times have gained a lot of social media attention. Travelers in huge numbers from the UAE are flocking to some of these destinations during holidays. However, this time, as Eid Al Fitr nears, many residents are reconsidering their travel itineraries, given the rising costs of tickets.

Seniri, from the Philippines, living in the UAE, highlighted that she was planning a trip to Tbilisi with her friends for Eid Al Fitr break, however, has kept it on hold as the ticket prices are too much. She said, “This plan was on and off for quite a long time, but we were all very keen to take up this trip because the work schedules in Dubai are getting very heavy. One of my friends’ husband agreed to book 5 tickets together, but 2 dropped the plan, saying the ticket cost is also a full-time trip cost, if planned during odd breaks.”

“Infact, by this time, the tickets should be a little economical, so a larger number of people can take a trip,” Seniri said.

On the other hand, Fatima Sehni, who works as a home-teacher, shared, “No matter what, my kids were excited to go somewhere this break, so almost 2 months back, we locked tickets for Kazakhstan after seeing a lot of stories and reels and Instagram.” Sehni shared that April to June is a great time to visit Kazakhstan as the country warms up, and is generally having mild temperatures with lower visitor numbers.

The Finance 360 had earlier reported that 90% of UAE travelers are choosing international destinations during this period, marking a substantial rise compared to previous years, and traditional favorites like India, Spain, Mauritius, France, and Sri Lanka are experiencing heightened interest. Meanwhile, many are also exploring destinations like Vietnam, Japan, Italy, and Switzerland.
