The countdown is on. From April 18–20, 2025, the world’s fastest street circuit will once again roar to life as Jeddah hosts the FORMULA 1 STC SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX for the fifth consecutive year. Here’s what fans need to know about the high-speed action returning to the Kingdom.
A Record-Breaking Track on the Red Sea
Since its debut in December 2021, the Jeddah Corniche Circuit has become a fan favorite. Known as the longest and fastest street circuit in Formula 1, it challenges drivers with average speeds of 252 km/h, and an astonishing 79% of the lap spent at full throttle—more than any other F1 track.
This year, Jeddah will once again host the fifth round of the 2025 FIA Formula 1 World Championship, promising wheel-to-wheel racing, overtakes, and dramatic moments along the Red Sea coast.
A Global Crowd and Growing Female Fanbase
The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix has quickly become the Kingdom’s biggest annual sporting and entertainment event. Since 2021, it has attracted nearly 500,000 visitors from over 130 countries.
The 2024 race saw a significant rise in female attendance. 30% of attendees were women, marking an 11% increase over 2023—a testament to the growing interest in motorsport among Saudi women.
F1 Academy Sparks Opportunities for Saudi Women
The 2024 Grand Prix also made history as it hosted the F1 Academy—an all-female racing series—for the first time in Saudi Arabia. The event featured Reema Juffali, Saudi Arabia’s first female professional racer, as a wildcard entry, inspiring a new generation of Saudi talent.
In the lead-up to the race, the Saudi Motorsport Company (SMC) partnered with 31 schools and universities across the Kingdom to highlight the significance of the series. More than 1,100 female students were engaged through various educational events, including a Career Day at Effat University with F1 Academy CEO Susie Wolff and Reema Juffali.
Six female students were later selected for exclusive internships with F1 Academy, gaining hands-on experience in motorsport.
99,000 Students and Counting
Beyond female empowerment, SMC has made motorsport education a nationwide priority. In total, 99,000 students have been reached through road shows, karting events, career days, and talent development programs. These initiatives are designed to build long-term motorsport knowledge and skills among Saudi youth.
The Full Fan Experience: Racing Meets Entertainment
While the racing takes center stage, the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is more than just a sporting event. Fans can expect a festival-style atmosphere, with world-class concerts lighting up the Jeddah Corniche.
This year’s entertainment lineup includes international superstars Jennifer Lopez, Usher, and Major Lazer Soundsystem, bringing an electric vibe to the race weekend.
With all eyes on the Red Sea coast, the 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is expected to deliver another unforgettable race weekend—both on and off the track. As motorsport continues to gain momentum in Saudi Arabia, the event stands as a powerful symbol of the Kingdom’s progress in sports, entertainment, and gender inclusion.
