This weekend, as Easter celebrations take over, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced free public bus services for visitors as part of its efforts to promote inclusivity and support the city’s multicultural communities.
In a social media announcement, the RTA said the initiative aligns with the UAE leadership’s vision of fostering coexistence, tolerance, and harmony. The authority emphasized its commitment to engaging with Dubai’s diverse population and facilitating easy access to Easter celebrations across the city.

“The Authority provides free buses to transport visitors from the Energy Metro Station to the Church Complex in Jebel Ali, throughout the Easter celebrations, from April 18 to 20, from 8 am to 8 pm. Visitors can also easily reach the event site in Oud Metha, a short walk from Oud Metha Metro Station,” read their statement.
RTA Unveils New Electric Bus
Adding to the weekend’s highlights, the RTA also launched the pilot phase of its next-generation electric bus, taking a major step toward its goal of achieving a zero-emission public transport system by 2050.
The electric bus is currently operating on Route F13—a vital metro feeder line connecting Al Quoz Bus Depot with popular destinations such as Burj Khalifa, Dubai Fountain, The Palace Downtown Hotel, and the Dubai Mall Metro Bus Stop (South).
The initiative supports RTA’s larger strategy to adopt smart, sustainable mobility solutions across its transport network.
Easter Festivities Across the UAE
Beyond Dubai, Easter celebrations are lighting up the UAE, with special events and offers available in Sharjah, Ajman, Abu Dhabi, and other Emirates. Restaurants are rolling out festive dining deals, while home bakers and local gift shops are offering special Easter-themed packages and discounts, making it easy for residents to celebrate in their own unique way.
