Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem breaks the world record in the javelin throw with a throw of 92.97 m, securing a gold medal. India’s Neeraj Chopra secured a close second in the same event. India’s hockey team restored their place in the Olympic Hall of Fame hockey after beating Spain 2-1 in the Paris Olympics, 44 years since their last victory in the 1980 Tokyo Olympics.
Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s fate at the Olympics and possibility of taking home the silver medal rest in the hands of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which is expected to deliberate on the matter today. Former Solicitor General of India Harish Salve will represent Phogat’s case.
