Apple Inc. has announced that Kevan Parekh, an Indian-origin executive, will be stepping into the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) starting January 2025. Parekh, who is currently the Vice-President of Financial Planning and Analysis at Apple, will succeed Luca Maestri.
Leadership Transition and Qualifications
Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, praised Parekh for his deep-rooted knowledge of the company, stating, “Kevan has been an integral part of our financial leadership team for over a decade, and his extensive experience makes him the ideal candidate for the CFO position.”
Parekh has been with Apple for 11 years, joining the company in June 2013 after four years at Thomson Reuters and five years at General Motors. His career began in 2004 as a Manager of Capital Markets at the New York Treasurer’s Office before transitioning to General Motors, where he advanced to Director of Business Development.
Educational Background
Parekh holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Chicago, which have equipped him with a solid foundation in both technical and business management.
Current Role and Responsibilities
At Apple, Parekh’s responsibilities have included financial planning and analysis, general and administrative finance, investor relations, and market research. His extensive experience within the company’s finance team positions him as a fitting successor to Maestri.
