UAE Key Driver Of Paralympic Games Development Says International Committee President

Andrew Parsons, President of the International Paralympic Committee, said that the UAE is a leading and key driver in the development of the Paralympic Games and sports for People of Determination worldwide.

The UAE is currently participating in the 17th edition of the Paralympic Games, “Paris 2024,” being held from 28th August to 9th September.
In a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) during his attendance at the Paralympic Games in the French capital, Parsons said that the UAE is one of the main players globally when it comes to Paralympic sports, whether in hosting numerous high-level international competitions or in its role in developing the Paralympic Games in the Middle East and around the world.

He added, “We are well aware of the significant support and care provided in the UAE for Paralympic sports, both from the UAE Paralympic Committee and the government. The UAE government has always been a supporter of the international Paralympic movement.”
Parsons revealed that he discussed future cooperation with the UAE delegation during a meeting yesterday, focusing on modern technologies in Paralympic sports, along with a range of joint initiatives.

He said, “The proposed projects between us are very promising, and I believe they will come to fruition soon.”
The President of the International Paralympic Committee expressed his admiration for the current edition, “Paris 2024,” which stands out in every detail, from the impressive opening ceremony to the large crowds at all the events and venues.
