Cristiano Ronaldo reached another extraordinary milestone in his illustrious career, netting his 900th career goal during Portugal’s Nations League match against Croatia on Thursday. The iconic forward scored in the 34th minute, tapping in a close-range volley from a Nuno Mendes cross at the Estadio da Luz, giving Portugal a 2-0 lead.
The 39-year-old, visibly emotional after the historic goal, now has 131 international goals for Portugal, in addition to 450 goals for Real Madrid, 145 for Manchester United, 101 for Juventus, 68 for his current club Al Nassr, and five for his first club, Sporting Lisbon.
Ronaldo’s achievement places him further ahead in the all-time scorer’s list, with Lionel Messi, his long-standing rival, second with 859 career goals.
