Europe’s coveted Champions League witnessed Liverpool take on AC Milan, coming back from a goal deficit on September 17. The Reds managed to turn the table on AC Milan at the San Siro. The Rossoneri forward, Christian Pulisic, opened the scoring with a goal in the third minute from a counterattack, but Ibrahima Konate and Virgil Van Dijk replied with two bullet headers to make it 2-1 before the halftime whistle. Dominik Szoboszlai added the third in the second half, and the game ended 3-1.
Current champions Real Madrid broke a 1-1 stalemate in minute 83 with a cementing final scoreline of 3-1 against German side VFB Stuttgart. Los Blancos striker Endrick took over social media after a phenomenal solo goal. Marquee summer signing Mbappe also scored alongside Rudiger.
In Germany, Bayern Munich scored nine goals to become the first team ever to do so in a single game and dominated Dinamo Zagreb (9-2). Harry Kane led the scoring sheet with four goals to become the English scoring leader throughout CL’s history, breaking Wayne Rooney’s record of 31 goals. Kane now has 33 goals as part of his overall tally. Kane also became the first ever player to score three penalties in a single game in the tournament.
