As Israel and Lebanon trade waves of strikes, thousands of Lebanese civilians flee their homes. Avichay Adraee, an IDF spokesperson, has warned Lebanese civilians that “raids will continue.” On Wednesday, 23 people died from Israeli airstrikes in the south of Lebanon. The BBC reported four fatalities in Joun, three in Ain Qana, two in Tibneen, and three in Bint Jbeil. Barring these deaths, dozens of Lebanese civilians were injured as airstrikes flew relentlessly.

Lebanon’s surging death toll has prompted global protests. Pro-Palentian Americans in San Francisco took to the streets on Tuesday to voice their support for Lebanon. Across the country, demonstrators assembled in front of the White House in Washington, DC, to chant their vehement dissent against Israeli airstrikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. On the global stage, Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq have “condemned the Israeli aggression on Lebanon” in a joint statement and warned that Israel is pushing the region toward an “all-out war.”

The death toll in Lebanon currently stands at 558. Thousands of civilians continue to evade danger and form the count for a staggering mass exodus within Lebanon.
