Dubai Maritime City (DMC) has significantly boosted its ship handling capacity, now able to manage up to 1,000 vessels annually, doubling its previous capability. This expansion is in line with Dubai’s strategic vision of becoming a top global maritime hub and fostering economic growth.
Key infrastructure upgrades, including retrofitted ship lifts, advanced ship cradles, and the installation of modern substations and shore power supplies, have powered this growth. DMC has enhanced its facilities with 6,000-tonne and 3,000-tonne ship lifts, allowing the city to accommodate more complex shipbuilding and repair projects.
Spread across a 249-hectare waterfront, DMC provides world-class services to luxury yachts and commercial shipbuilders. To further improve its offerings, DMC has also entered into agreements to rehabilitate marine structures and enhance operational efficiency, which will extend the lifespan of its facilities and attract more international maritime companies.
