As Israel’s war cabinet weighs its response to Iran’s missile attack, airstrikes in Lebanon moved closer to the heart of its capital city. On Thursday, Israel launched a “precise strike” on a building that housed the Hezbollah-affiliated Islamic Health Authority in central Beirut. The strike killed at least six people and injured seven others. Unlike Monday’s strikes, this time attacks were launched without any warning by an Arabic spokesperson from the Israeli military alerting civilians to evacuate.

Israel struck Beirut’s southern suburbs, targeting the Bashoura neighborhood, nestled in the heart of Lebanon’s capital. The southern suburbs of Beirut were known as dense Hezbollah pockets.

As global interventions in the escalating war in the Middle East grow, Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz declared United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres persona non grata in Israel. Guterres’ ban from Israel came as a result of his “failure to condemn Iran’s attack on Israel,” leading Katz to declare the UN Secretary-General in “support of terrorists,” such as Hamas, Hezbollah, Yemen’s Houthi rebels, and Iran.

The Lebanese health ministry reported 46 deaths and 85 injuries from nationwide attacks in Lebanon in the last 24 hours. Israel vows to continue its attacks on aggressors. Danny Danon. Israel’s UN envoy warns bystanders in the region of Israel’s “capabilities to reach any destination in the Middle East, and it’s up to us to decide how to do it and what to target.”
