Under the directive of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed, six additional relief aid flights were sent to the Lebanese people. The new dispatch carried a $100 million package. This comes after $30 million worth of humanitarian aid was sent to Lebanese civilians displaced in Syria on Monday.
This initiative is part of the UAE’s continued efforts to assist the people of Lebanon and help them confront current challenges while reaffirming its “unwavering” solidarity with the Lebanese community.
A UAE relief campaign titled “The UAE is with you, Lebanon” will launch on Tuesday, October 8, and run until Monday, October 21, involving participation from the community, institutions, and government and private entities.
Following an earlier presidential directive from Sheikh Mohamed, the UAE has begun dispatching six aircraft carrying approximately 205 tons of medical supplies, food, relief materials, and shelter equipment to help mitigate the serious humanitarian and health challenges. This initiative is being implemented with international partners, including the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
