New project launched to document life of mastermind behind Dubai's transformation

As travelers from across the world land in Dubai, a new project is making headlines in the mega city.

Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), a project titled ‘Documenting the Legacy of Sheikh Rashid’, has been launched.

The project will include an archive that tells the story of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, former Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE, and former Ruler of Dubai’s leadership and his important qualities. He helped Dubai become a successful city and has been a role model for many people.

Jamal bin Huwaireb, the CEO of MBRF, recently highlighted the significance of a new initiative and said that it is to instill a sense of national pride and showcase the legacy of the UAE’s founding fathers to future generations. Bin Huwaireb also emphasized that Sheikh Rashid played a crucial role in shaping modern Dubai and, alongside Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, laid the groundwork for the UAE’s development.

He stated, “The documentation of Sheikh Rashid’s remarkable journey will not only foster national pride but also provide scholars and future generations with a reliable resource on an emblematic figure in Emirati history.”
This initiative is designed to inspire young people as they shape their futures and develop their visions for success. The project will create an integrated archive that highlights Sheikh Rashid’s leadership qualities, values, and principles, serving as a testament to his enduring impact on Dubai’s evolution into a global city. Bin Huwaireb noted that this effort is essential for cultivating a deeper appreciation of Emirati values and ensuring that the contributions of the nation’s leaders are recognized and celebrated.
