Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Welcomes Global Leaders In Energy, Technology, Climate To ENACT Majlis In Abu Dhabi

H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has emphasized the importance of strengthening regional and global strategic collaborations and partnerships in the fields of artificial intelligence, advanced technology, energy, and climate, to support efforts in finding effective solutions to emerging climate challenges.

During a meeting at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre, with over 80 global leaders in energy, technology, climate, and investment participating in the ENACT Majlis, Sheikh Khaled reaffirmed the significance of intensifying global efforts among various stakeholders to explore effective ways of leveraging the diverse economic and social opportunities arising from the AI-Energy-Climate Nexus.

Sheikh Khaled added that real progress in these sectors can be realized on the ground by fostering the exchange of expertise and knowledge among global partners engaged in these vital fields.

Sheikh Khaled expressed the UAE and Abu Dhabi’s commitment to embracing and strengthening sustainable practices and solutions across all sectors, emphasizing the importance of leveraging the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, advanced technology, and digital solutions, within the vital energy sector, alongside supporting innovative initiatives and projects in clean and low-emission energy, to drive global progress in harnessing artificial intelligence for the future of energy, while supporting the ongoing transition to clean energy options for a sustainable future.

Sheikh Khaled highlighted the significance of the meeting, which gathers senior leaders in technology, energy, and climate, re-emphasizing that it serves as a global platform for enhancing the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and experiences across essential fields and reaffirming the meeting’s vital role in advancing sustainable development and supporting the global transition toward clean energy by aligning shared efforts and visions to apply AI solutions and technologies in these sectors, to achieve a tangible positive impact at local, regional, and global levels.

The invitation-only ENACT Majlis, convened by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Managing Director and Group CEO of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), was held under Chatham House rules with the theme AI and Energy, Powering a Sustainable Future. Rooted in long-standing Emirati traditions, the Majlis provided a forum for open, bold, and solutions-oriented discussions.

The ENACT Majlis followed the release of a joint report by ADNOC, Masdar, and Microsoft, Powering Possible: AI and Energy for a Sustainable Future. It also took place on the eve of ADIPEC 2024, the world’s largest energy event, being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi) from November 4-7 2024.
