Bharat Mart, a strategic trading hub for Indian businesses, is set to open by the end of 2026 in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA). The ambitious project was unveiled with a virtual model at a ceremony attended by key dignitaries, including His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal.
The project, which will span 2.7 million square feet and feature 1,500 showrooms, promises to transform global trade connections between India, the Middle East, and beyond.
Bharat Mart’s prime location, just 11 km from Jebel Ali Port and 15 km from Al Maktoum International Airport, provides seamless access to a multimodal logistics network, offering connectivity to over 150 maritime destinations and more than 300 cities globally. Additionally, its proximity to Etihad Rail enhances the ease of transportation and market reach for Indian exporters.

A Boost to UAE-India Relations
During the unveiling, HH Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the significance of Dubai’s world-class infrastructure in supporting India’s growing global trade. He stated, “Dubai’s world-class infrastructure and connectivity make it a vital partner as India expands its global trade.”
Added, “With non-oil bilateral trade surging and over 2,300 Indian companies thriving in JAFZA, Bharat Mart will further strengthen the UAE-India partnership by providing Indian goods faster access to global markets.”
India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, hailed the project as transformative. “Bharat Mart is a transformative project launched by DP World with immense potential, and we keenly await its completion. DP World’s efforts around developing the Virtual Trade Corridor between India and the UAE will ensure that trade and commerce scale new heights in the spirit envisaged by the India-UAE CEPA,” he said.
Goyal further appreciated DP World’s initiatives in creating new dimensions for Indian businesses to reach new markets, including Africa.
