Bollywood’s Ananya Panday Becomes Chanel’s First Indian Brand Ambassador

Bollywood actress Ananya Panday, who is making waves in the industry, has now become the first Indian brand ambassador for the luxury brand Chanel. The brand, in a statement to BoF, remarked that she “characterizes a generation of evolving tastes” and “fiercely independent identities” who navigate the world with curiosity.

Chanel further stated, “Her values resonate with Chanel, making her the perfect choice to represent the house.”

Ananya was quick to express her admiration for the brand and took to social media to announce the exciting news. Sharing a set of photos, she wrote, “Beyond grateful and excited for my journey with Chanel.”

As she added this feather to her hat, Panday added, “The first-ever brand ambassador for and from India. Dreams really do come true.”

By choosing Ananya Panday as their brand ambassador in India, Chanel is strategically targeting the country’s young, aspirational consumer base. This demographic, driven by a growing interest in luxury goods, is projected to spend between $28 billion and $32 billion on high-end brands by 2030, as per Bain & Company’s estimates.

With Ananya’s growing popularity and influence among India’s youth, Chanel aims to strengthen its connection with this lucrative market, tapping into a new wave of luxury shoppers who are not only looking for premium products but also seek to align with brands that resonate with their values and lifestyles.

Before Chanel, Ananya was also associated with Swarovski. She headlined Jimmy Choo’s India campaigns and worked with brands such as Lakmé, Beats, and Timex.
