On Thursday, April 3, 2025, China successfully launched a new satellite from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre in Shanxi Province, located in the northern part of the country.

According to China Central Television (CCTV), the Tianping-3A 02 satellite was carried into space by a Long March-6 rocket and successfully reached its designated orbit.

The satellite’s primary mission is to calibrate ground-based radar equipment and measure radar cross section (RCS). It will also assist in imaging experiments for ground-based optical systems, conduct monitoring tests of the low-orbit space environment, and provide services for atmospheric space environment measurement and orbital prediction model corrections.

This successful launch marks the 568th mission of the Long March rocket series.
