Kevin De Bruyne’s appearance against Arsenal is now in doubt as he possibly faces a reported groin injury against Inter Milan in the Champions League.
The Belgian playmaker injured his groin after making a challenge on goal while facing Inter Milan’s keeper Yann Sommer. De Bruyne continued until halftime and was taken off by then. Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, told the media, “I don’t know; I will have more info tomorrow [on Thursday].”
While Martin Odegaard suffers from a damaged ankle ligament, an injury he picked up over the international break.
The Arsenal captain is said to be out “for a while,” according to the Gunners’ coach Mikel Arteta. The Norwegian sustained his injury while playing for his national team. It was revealed ahead of Arsenal’s CL match by Arteta, who said, “After everything was scanned, the scan showed he has some damage, especially on one of the ligaments in the ankle,” then added, “We are going to miss him. I don’t want to [give a timeline] because I am not a doctor, but yes, it is something quite significant, so we are going to lose him for a while. Hopefully not months.”
Arsenal is set to visit the Etihad stadium to face off against Manchester City, in match between the English Premier League’s top two teams.
