Dubai Customs Busts Huge Drug Smuggling Attempt, Seizes 147.4Kg

Dubai Customs has successfully stopped a major smuggling attempt, seizing 147.4 kg of narcotics and psychotropic substances at a key seaport, preventing them from entering the Emirate. The inspection teams used advanced screening systems to spot irregularities in a transiting shipment, demonstrating their vigilance and expertise.

A detailed inspection found the hidden drugs in the cargo, allowing authorities to stop it right away before it reached Dubai. The team confirmed the presence of narcotics with the help of detection dogs in coordination with the relevant enforcement bodies, including the elite K9 Unit. After that, applicable security protocols and regulations initiated legal procedures.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, shared, “The successful foiling of this smuggling attempt is a testament to our commitment to national security and the protection of our economy.”
