As the city embraces the Holy Month of Ramadan and gears up for Eid Al Fitr, Dubai Gold Souk Extension has kicked off a new annual initiative, “Souk of Giving”, honoring the unsung heroes who keep Dubai moving every day.

It began on the 10th of March, and up till the 25th, the city’s taxi and tour bus drivers are invited to collect complimentary Iftar packages, recognizing their vital role in guiding visitors and residents alike to one of Dubai’s most iconic gold trade hubs.

Each evening, taxi and tour bus drivers make their way to the Dubai Gold Souk Extension information desk, where they can collect their Iftar packages by presenting a valid RTA or official tour operator ID. More than just a meal, this initiative is a reflection of Ramadan’s spirit of generosity and hospitality, ensuring that those working tirelessly during the holy month are not forgotten.

On the very first day, over 100 drivers took part, setting the tone for the initiative and reinforcing the Dubai Gold Souk Extension’s commitment to supporting the community.

Rashid Al Harmoodi, Senior Director of Property Management, Ithra Dubai, shared, “The Souk of Giving initiative reflects the UAE leadership’s vision of a strong and united community, as championed through this year’s national initiative, the Year of Community. At the Dubai Gold Souk Extension, we are committed to embracing the spirit of generosity that defines both the Holy Month of Ramadan and the values of the nation. By sharing Iftar meals, we contribute to an inclusive and empowered society where collaboration, kindness, and shared responsibility drive collective progress.”

Earlier in the first week of Ramadan, Dubai’s Gold Souk Extension had also unveiled a golden vault, where a total of prizes valued up to AED 250,000 were announced for residents and tourists alike.
