The world’s largest peace summit, the Global Justice, Love & Peace Summit, opened today at Expo City Dubai, bringing together an extraordinary assembly of global leaders across sectors to champion the cause of justice, love, and peace.

Spanning two days, the event features 12 Nobel Peace Prize laureates, heads of state, royalty, Chief Justices, religious and spiritual leaders, business magnates, athletes, and cultural icons. The summit aims to inspire tangible action toward a more just, peaceful, and united global future.

The event is set to make history on its second day as all 12 Nobel Peace Prize laureates will convene on a single stage under the banner “One Planet, One Voice: Global Justice, Love and Peace”. This rare gathering is expected to present a visionary framework for a new world order based on non-violence, truth, and universal justice.

“There is a need for a new world order founded on peace, justice, and shared human values. There is the necessity of building a global framework that harmoniously integrates freedom, human rights, and universally accepted values,” said Lech Wałęsa, former President of Poland and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, ahead of the summit.

Wałęsa also emphasized the importance of open dialogue: “We are in an era of discussion, and while we are facing challenges, that very discomfort helps us search for better paths forward. It’s through open dialogue that we’ll find common ground.” He advocated for a reimagined global governance structure, possibly rooted in the current United Nations system.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, serves as the summit’s patron and Chief Guest, delivering a keynote address on the second day.

Opening the summit was Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, a prominent parliamentarian and educator in the UAE, who serves as Chairman of the Defence Affairs, Interior & Foreign Affairs Committee in the Federal National Council.

“We are proud to bring together the Nobel laureates, royalties, heads of state, top businessmen, religious and spiritual leaders and thought leaders to visualise a paradigm shift from a world dominated by competition and violence to one driven by collaboration, fairness, justice and non-violence,” said Dr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala, Chairman of the ‘I am Peacekeeper Movement,’ which organised the summit.

Abdessattar Ben Moussa, a 2015 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, highlighted the need to address social and economic inequalities as a foundation for peace. “Leaders should strive and invest in education to promote the value of tolerance and mutual respect in the family, school and community. They should also adopt dialogue and resolve conflicts through peaceful means,” he said.

Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, former President of Mauritius, who is moderating the session “Beloved Mother Earth, Our Home: Can Love for the Planet Inspire a More Sustainable Future?”, underscored the link between peace and prosperity. “Without peace, there is no stability and certainly no prosperity and suffering abound. Peace has, unfortunately, become in some parts of the world, a political expediency. There are, however, some examples of economies that have thrived through a culture of peace and where investment has been made in building infrastructure and improving livelihoods as opposed to feeding a war economy,” she said.

Among the other prominent attendees are Jose Manuel Ramos-Horta, President of East Timor and 1996 Nobel Peace Laureate; Dr. Habil Khorakiwala, Chairman of Wockhardt Group; Dr. Khalid Al Ghanim Al Ghaith, Secretary General of the Human Committee of Human Fraternity; Dr. Khalifa Al Dhaheri, Chancellor of MBZ University for Humanities; Ekaterina Zagladina, President of the Permanent Secretariat of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates; and Mohamed Abd-Salam, Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Elders and Co-President of Religions for Peace.

The summit will conclude with the unveiling of the Peace Charter: Love Letter to Humanity, a declaration of guiding principles for justice, love, and peace. The charter will focus on key pillars such as justice and equality, dialogue and cooperation, education and empowerment, freedom, leadership, and responsibility.
