Dubai Internet City, a key driver of the Middle East’s digital economy and part of TECOM Group PJSC, is set to represent Dubai at the inaugural GITEX Asia, taking place in Singapore from April 23 to 25. The tech hub will participate as part of a broader delegation led by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET).
With a legacy of more than two decades, Dubai Internet City will use the platform to showcase Dubai’s fast-evolving digital landscape and highlight the emirate’s rising influence in global tech innovation. The district has been instrumental in advancing digital transformation and encouraging the adoption of frontier technologies across the region.
According to a recent Impact Assessment study by Accenture, Dubai Internet City has contributed 65% of Dubai’s technology sector GDP and has supported the creation of over 125,000 jobs since its establishment in 1999. Over the past 15 years, it has also added AED 100 billion to Dubai’s GDP.
Commenting on the participation, Ammar Al Malik, Executive Vice President of Commercial at TECOM Group and Managing Director of Dubai Internet City, said: “GITEX Asia offers a key platform to engage with global tech leaders and policymakers. We aim to demonstrate the strength of Dubai’s digital economy and foster impactful partnerships that will support Dubai’s ambitions under the D33 Agenda and the UAE Digital Economy Strategy.”
During the event, Dubai Internet City will feature success stories from its community of 4,000 businesses and over 31,000 professionals, including industry giants such as Google, IBM, Microsoft, and other Fortune 500 companies. The district is also home to 19 R&D and innovation centers operated by global leaders like 3M, Cisco, HP, Ericsson, and IBM.
Also joining the delegation is in5, the TECOM Group’s start-up incubator launched in 2013. in5 has supported more than 1,000 start-ups across tech, media, science, and design.
Dubai Internet City will exhibit at Booth HB-C80 in Hall B at Marina Bay Sands, representing Dubai’s wider innovation ecosystem that includes Dubai Media City, Dubai Science Park, d3, and other specialized business districts under TECOM Group’s umbrella.
