Dubai Marathon 2026: Registration Opens For 25th Edition – All You Need To Know

The Dubai Marathon has officially opened registration for its much-anticipated 25th edition, set to take place on Sunday, February 1, 2026. Marking a quarter-century of elite competition, this silver jubilee event is the Middle East’s oldest international road race and is expected to attract runners from over 140 countries.

The 2026 Dubai Marathon will feature multiple race categories to accommodate all fitness levels

Full Marathon: 42.195 km, starting at 7:00 AM, for participants aged 18 and above.

10 km Road Race: Starting at 8:15 AM, open to runners aged 15 and above.

4 km Fun Run: Starting at 10:30 AM, open to all ages.

The race course is renowned for being flat and fast, contributing to world-class performances and making it one of the top ten marathons globally.

Winners, Significance

The Dubai Marathon has a prestigious history of record-breaking performances. In 2008, Haile Gebrselassie ran the second-fastest marathon time ever during his debut in Dubai, elevating the event’s international profile. More recently, Ethiopian runners Boti Gelemeshu and Berdado Hirpa won the men’s and women’s titles respectively in 2025, both setting personal bests.

Race Director Peter Connerton highlighted that the 25th edition will be celebrated with a year-long series of special events leading up to race day, underscoring the marathon’s steady rise to the elite tier of global road racing.

Registration Details and Entry Fees

Full Marathon: $150 USD

10 km Road Race: $85 USD

4 km Fun Run: $50 USD

Registration is available exclusively online through the official Dubai Marathon website. Participants must agree to World Athletics rules and the event’s terms and conditions before completing registration.

Race Day Logistics and Facilities

Start/Finish Location: Umm Suqeim Road near Madinat Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab.

Road Closures: Extensive closures will be in place; participants are advised to avoid parking near the start/finish zones and use public transport or designated parking areas such as Mall of the Emirates.

Run Number Collection: Scheduled from January 28 to 31, with in-person collection required for identity verification.

Race Timing: Electronic timing chips attached to bibs will record official times.

Water and Hydration Stations: Strategically placed along the course for all race categories.

Time Limit: Marathon runners have a 6-hour finish time limit, with phased road reopenings for safety.
