As we enter the last quarter, UAE residents are gearing up to make the most of the winter season. In just a month, it will be Christmas and New Year’s Eve, a time of year when people from across the globe flock to Dubai to create memories and ring in the New Year by watching the iconic Burj Khalifa fireworks. Now, the city has been crowned the most Instagrammable destination in the world, beating other global destinations like Sydney and London, which also have spots that are really famous.
This news comes as no surprise, as every corner of the country is preparing to enthrall both visitors and residents alike. People start booking their spots to watch the Burj Khalifa’s New Year’s Eve fireworks months in advance, with reports suggesting that tickets sell out in no time. All the restaurants around Dubai Mall are also fully booked, with premium packages available, as many prefer watching the fireworks from there.
Dubai Festival City, malls, and Global Village, among others, are just some of the attractions featuring fireworks displays for people to enjoy. Forbes suggests that Dubai dominated Instagram, garnering over 123 million posts on Instagram alone highlighting hotspots like the Burj Khalifa and the Burj Al Arab.
Time Out suggests that New York claimed second place with 5,676 hashtags, while Paris followed closely in third with 5,070. London secured fourth place with 4,499 hashtags, and Sydney, one of the first cities to welcome the New Year, ranked sixth with 1,172 hashtags.
We mentioned earlier that the prices of the tickets for Burj Khalifa fireworks have spiked this year, starting at AED580 for adults and AED370 for children—including food, drinks, and entertainment. The early-bird sale began on October 24, and tickets rolled out quickly.
