On Sunday, December 29, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai announced the expansion of its free Wi-Fi service at public bus stations. In a bid to enhance the travel experience for commuters, six additional bus stops will now provide free internet access, furthering the RTA’s commitment to improving transportation services across the city.
The newly added bus stations include prominent locations such as Satwa Station, Union Station, Al Ghubaiba Station, and Gold Souq Station. These locations join a growing list of stations already offering free Wi-Fi, including Mall of the Emirates Station, Ibn Battuta Station, and International City Station, which were equipped with the service earlier this month.
The RTA is actively working to extend this initiative to all bus stations in the near future, aiming to create a seamless and convenient experience for passengers. By providing free Wi-Fi, the RTA hopes to not only improve the quality of public transport but also ensure that commuters have access to reliable internet while on the go.
This move is part of the RTA’s broader strategy to develop smart, customer-focused services that align with the UAE’s vision of becoming a global leader in innovation and technology. The free Wi-Fi service is expected to benefit a large number of commuters, helping them stay connected, whether for work or leisure while traveling throughout the city.
