Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has praised the cooperation of delivery companies with the authority’s field inspectors, who specialize in monitoring the performance of delivery motorcycles across the emirate. This recognition follows the review of recent campaigns and inspection operations organized by the RTA in collaboration with relevant government entities to assess the performance of the delivery sector.

The inspection efforts focused on areas with the highest concentration of motorcycles involved in deliveries, such as Hessa Street, Zabeel, Jumeirah, Downtown, Mirdif, and Motor City.

Saeed Al Ramsi, Director of the Licensing Activities Monitoring Department at the RTA, explained that these campaigns involved over 11,000 inspections of drivers, vehicles, and delivery facilities.

As a result, 44 motorcycles were seized due to being unfit for use or having expired insurance and registration, and 33 electric bikes were impounded for lacking the proper license to operate on the roads.

Al Ramsi added, “The campaigns also led to the issuance of over 1,200 violations against delivery bike drivers, including violations of safety regulations such as failure to wear protective gear (helmet, gloves, reflective vest, elbow, and leg protectors), riding without a vocational training certificate, reckless driving, and non-compliance with technical vehicle standards.”

In addition to the inspections, the RTA conducted workshops and awareness campaigns on motorcycle safety, engaging over 3,600 delivery drivers. These sessions focused on addressing the daily challenges faced by delivery riders, helping them improve their performance, and ensuring the safety and security of all road users.
