The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has begun a major road linkage project across 19 residential areas in Dubai, spanning a total length of 11.5 kilometers. The project, which also includes traffic improvements, new parking spaces, sidewalks, and lighting poles, aims to meet the growing needs of the city’s expanding population.
By continuously enhancing road infrastructure, the RTA seeks to improve traffic safety, efficiency, and the overall quality of life for residents. These new road connections will ease the flow of traffic into and out of residential areas by paving previously unpaved roads, reducing travel time by up to 40%.
This will result in a smoother, safer driving experience for commuters. The project reflects the RTA’s vision of achieving global leadership in sustainable and efficient transportation.
The development will take place in 19 key areas: Al Khawaneej 1, Al Barsha South 1, Nad Shamma, Jumeirah 1, Zabeel 1, Al Rashidiya, Muhaisnah 1, Al Barsha 1, Al Hudaiba, Al Quoz 1, Al Quoz 3, Al Qusais 2, Al Satwa, Al Twar 1, Mirdif, Umm Ramool, Umm Suqeim 1, Al Mizhar 1, and Al Mizhar 2. The project is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2026.
