This weekend, thousands will gather as The Dubai Run takes over the city’s most iconic roads. Although this event is held annually, the excitement each year feels different from the last. The area turns into a neon spectacle, with friends, family, and participants waking up at 4 am to channel their inner fitness gurus. As the closing event of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, it’s even more special, marking the grand finale of the month-long fitness celebration. Here’s everything you need to know if you are a part of the event.

Extended Metro Hours

To ensure people’s comfort and safety during the Dubai Run Day, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will extend the operating hours of the Dubai Metro. Both metro lines will run from 3.00 am to midnight on the event day. Participants and spectators are reminded to check their Nol card balance before heading out, with a minimum of AED15 required for a round trip on the Nol Silver Card and AED30 for the Nol Gold Card.

Road Closures

Who can register?

For Dubai Run 2024, kids under 13 will need an adult to register on their behalf, while teens aged 13-21 can sign up themselves with parental approval. There will be no bag drop available, so participants should travel light. Remember to bring your bib, as you won’t be able to run without it. For the rest, a few details need to be filled up on the official registration form.

Which routes to follow?

There are two routes for participants to look forward to. The 5km one starts on Sheikh Zayed Road near the Museum of the Future, passing landmarks like the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Opera, before finishing near Dubai Mall. A longer 10km route also begins near the Museum of the Future, crosses the Dubai Canal Bridge, loops along Sheikh Zayed Road, and concludes near DIFC Gate.

Excitement is at its peak

Social media is buzzing with residents sharing their excitement about being a part of the event. Many have already started sharing their pre-fitness regimes as they prepare for the big day.
