Starting October 15, outstanding private-sector educators will become eligible to apply for Golden Visas in the UAE. In light of this announcement, Dubai schools are making steady headway by forming internal committees to evaluate the requirements for teachers’ Golden Visa applications, following directives from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). Additionally, schools have been advised to ensure they meet the criteria before submitting individual applications to KHDA through the e-Services system.
The official announcement was made by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council on October 5, celebrated annually as World Teacher’s Day.

Long-term residence visas will be granted to educators in early childhood centers, private schools, and international higher education institutions. The Golden Visa reflects the emirate’s dedication to fostering talent, investing in human capital, and recognizing the contributions of educators who inspire and empower future generations.
Who can apply?Â
A list of accolades and academic achievements is a necessary prerequisite. Educators with a proven record of elevating the quality of education at their respective institutions are likely to make the cut. In addition to performance, applicants must possess the ability to create a positive impact and gain recognition within the broader educational community. They must be able to quantify significant contributions toward improving student outcomes, including academic progress. Applicants must hold an advanced degree (PhD, professional doctorate, or master’s) or relevant professional qualifications.
