A woman in her 30s has been sentenced to five years in prison and fined AED50,000 for supplying drugs in Dubai. The Dubai Criminal Court convicted her of providing amphetamine and methamphetamine to a male acquaintance without charge.

The case dates back to April 2, 2024, when Dubai Police received a tip-off about drug use in the Satwa area. The following day, officers arrested the male suspect, who later tested positive for controlled substances. During questioning, he admitted to receiving the drugs from the female defendant on two occasions.

A subsequent search of the man’s residence revealed four packets of crystal meth. Investigators discovered that the woman was already in police custody on a related case.

Although the defendant retracted her earlier confession during the trial, the court dismissed her denial, deeming her initial statements voluntary and credible. In addition to her prison term and fine, the court ordered her deportation after serving her sentence.
