The 12th edition of the World Governments Summit will be held in Dubai from 11th to 13th February 2025, under the theme ‘Shaping Future Governments’; set to see a record level of international participation, making it the largest in the event’s history.
Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Governments Summit Organisation, highlighted that under the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the summit has grown to become the world’s most influential forum for governments.
This year, the summit will welcome over 30 heads of state and government, 80+ international organizations, and 140 government delegations, with more than 6,000 participants, including leading global experts.
The summit’s expanded agenda will feature 21 global forums, 200+ interactive sessions, and contributions from over 300 prominent figures. Additionally, over 30 ministerial meetings will convene 400+ ministers and will culminate in the release of 30 strategic reports in collaboration with international knowledge partners.
Al Gergawi noted that the World Government Summit has become an essential platform for proactive governance, encouraging global collaboration to address future challenges and ensuring sustainable prosperity for all. He emphasized that the summit focuses on empowering individuals, building thriving communities, and fostering international partnerships.
The summit’s core focus will revolve around six key themes: Effective Governance and Accountability, Financing the Future and the Global Economy, Climate and Crisis Mitigation, Human-Centric Futures, Global Health Transformations, and Emerging Frontiers.
In addition, it will introduce 30 strategic reports developed in collaboration with think tanks and research institutions. These reports will offer innovative solutions and recommendations to support the global achievement of Sustainable Development Goals and enhance government resilience and cooperation.
The Global Ministers Survey will also be launched, allowing ministers to share insights on key global challenges and contribute to solutions aimed at achieving a more sustainable and equitable future. With record-breaking participation and an expanded agenda, the World Government Summit continues to be a leading platform for global dialogue and progress.
