As Ramadan 2025 is soon going to end, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) shared the dates for holidays for private sector employees across the UAE, one of the most awaited announcements amongst employees. There will be a paid holiday for Eid Al Fitr from Sunday, March 30, through Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as announced on Tuesday, March 18. The break will apply to all private sector employees nationwide.
However, if the holy month of Ramadan concludes in 30 days, the holiday will be extended to Wednesday, April 2, giving workers an extra day off, and making a good long break. As Islamic months can either last 29 or 30 days, the duration of the break will depend on the sighting of the Shawwal Moon.
We announce that from Sunday 30 March to Tuesday 1 April, will be a paid holiday for all private sector employees across the country on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr.

The UAE’s Moon Sighting Committee will begin observing the crescent moon on March 29. If the moon is sighted that evening, Eid Al Fitr holidays will fall on March 30, 31, and April 1, creating a four-day break (Saturday to Tuesday).
If the moon is not sighted, and Ramadan completes its full 30 days, the first day of Shawwal will be on March 31. In this case, the holiday will extend to include April 2, giving residents a five-day break from Saturday to Wednesday.
Earlier, The Finance 360 reported that many residents are jetting off to international destinations this year to make the most of the holidays. Meanwhile, some are facing crunches in booking tickets due to rising costs. There’s been a notable 100% surge in ticket prices, with many saying that the total cost of the trip now adds up to just the airfare.
