Even before the Eid Al Fitr 2025 long weekend break is officially announced, new statistics reveal that Dubai International Airport (DXB) is expecting a significant surge in passenger traffic. A total of 3.6 million guests are anticipated to pass through its terminals between March 26 and April 7, marking one of the busiest periods for the airport. The peak day is expected to be Saturday, April 5, with an estimated 309,000 guests.
On average, 276,000 travelers are projected to pass through DXB daily, with the sharpest increase expected in the first week of April. Departures during Eid week are forecasted to rise by 19% compared to the average weekly volumes of the past month, reflecting a notable seasonal boost.
Increased Travel Demand During Eid Break
The surge in traffic is partly driven by school holidays in the UAE, leading to increased travel demand. Popular destinations include India, Pakistan, and the United Kingdom, while leisure travel is also on the rise, with notable increases in flights to Sri Lanka, Türkiye, and Italy.
DXB Express Maps for a Seamless Experience
To facilitate smooth journeys during this peak period, Dubai Airports is encouraging guests to use the newly introduced DXB Express Maps. This smart wayfinding tool provides real-time navigation across all terminals. By scanning a QR code displayed on any flight information screen, travelers can quickly locate their gate, explore dining and retail options, and find nearby facilities with ease.
Enhanced Services for People of Determination (PoD)
Dubai Airports has also introduced enhanced services for People of Determination (PoD). These include:
- Clearly marked accessibility routes
- Discreet assistance from trained staff wearing Sunflower pins for guests wearing the Sunflower Lanyard
- A dedicated Assisted Travel Lounge in Terminal 2
Collaborative Efforts for a Smooth Travel Experience
