Etihad Airways has experienced significant growth in passenger traffic, welcoming 1.6 million guests in February 2025, marking a 89% average passenger load factor. This performance is part of the airline’s overall strong start to the year, with a total of 3.3 million passengers served in the first two months of 2025, a notable increase compared to 2.9 million passengers in the same period last year.
The airline’s CEO, Antonoaldo Neves, expressed his satisfaction with the growth, stating, “Our passenger numbers in February saw a strong 14 percent growth compared to the same period last year, as we continue to be among the world’s fastest-growing airlines.” This growth underscores Etihad’s ability to adapt and thrive in an ever-competitive aviation industry.
Neves further highlighted that the airline’s robust performance is also attributed to the strategic expansion of its network, with the company set to launch 14 new routes throughout 2025. This expansion is expected to strengthen Etihad’s position in the global aviation market, attracting even more travelers and boosting its operational efficiency.
In addition to increasing passenger numbers, the airline’s fleet is also growing. Etihad’s fleet is nearing the milestone of 100 aircraft, with further deliveries scheduled throughout 2025. This growing fleet will enable the airline to meet the increasing demand for air travel and continue its ambitious growth trajectory.-WAM
