Dubai has successfully reduced morning peak travel times by 30% across the city, thanks to newly expanded flexible work hours and remote work policies under the emirate’s Traffic Flow Plan. This initiative, approved by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, aims to enhance business productivity, ease mobility, and improve quality of life.

A survey conducted by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and the Dubai Government Human Resources (DGHR) Department shows that 32% of private companies in Dubai currently offer remote work options, with 58% ready to expand these policies. Flexible hours are also being adopted, with 31% of companies implementing them and 66% open to doing so.

Studies indicate that if 20% of employees work remotely, traffic on key roads like Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road could decrease by up to 10%. These flexible arrangements not only alleviate traffic but support Dubai’s vision to become the world’s best city to live and work in, fostering a supportive work environment and boosting community well-being.
