The 2024 Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit kicks off for an exciting weekend filled with thrilling track action and various activities, events, and more. For many fans, it’s also a chance to see their favorite drivers, and then swing into action and music, with globally renowned artists.

While scores of people are currently in Abu Dhabi, to witness this spectacular event, it happens to be that 65% of the 170,000 audience were tourists last year, Khaleej Times reports. It seems people were lining up hours before, whereas some fans were requesting tickets, all eager to enter.

Saif Rashid Al-Noaimi, CEO of Ethara, the organizers of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, discussed how the F1 race continues to captivate global fans and boost the local economy. He highlighted that the event has become a key part of Abu Dhabi’s tourism strategy, contributing significantly to the region’s economy. “Last year, attendees at the Grand Prix spent over one billion dirhams in Abu Dhabi, which is a significant contribution to the economy,” said Al-Noaimi.

Although there are four F1 races in the Gulf region, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix remains the most popular. Al-Noaimi attributes this success to the organizers’ constant drive for improvement and innovation. “We always aim to offer fresh experiences. This year, we’ve introduced upgrades and new features for 2024,” he explained.

One of the major upgrades is to the Paddock Club, which now includes new entrances, a revamped rooftop and terrace, and an impressive new viewing platform offering 360-degree views. Additionally, new viewing areas and fan zones have been added at Yas Marina Circuit. A major highlight for fans is the after-race concerts, with top artist Eminem headlining this year. “The after-race concerts are a key part of the event, and we always aim to create a great experience for our guests,” said Al-Noaimi.
