The Golden Globes 2025 took place at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on January 5, 2025, with Hollywood’s biggest stars in attendance. India’s hopes were high for All We Imagine As Light, a Cannes-winning film directed by Payal Kapadia, which secured nominations for Best Non-English Language Motion Picture and Best Director. However, the film did not win in either category.
The night was dominated by Emilia Pérez and The Brutalist. Emilia Pérez, which led the nominations with 10 nods, ended up winning four awards, including Best Motion Picture (Musical/Comedy), Best Non-English Language Film, and Best Original Song. Zoe Saldana took home the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in Emilia Pérez.
The Brutalist also had a strong showing, winning Best Motion Picture (Drama), with Brady Corbet taking home the Best Director award for the film. Adrien Brody won Best Actor in a Drama for his role in The Brutalist, while Fernanda Torres took home Best Actress in a Drama for I’m Still Here.
This year’s Golden Globes marked the second ceremony since the Hollywood Foreign Press Association was replaced by Dick Clark Productions and Eldridge, following the acquisition of the HFPA’s assets.
