Vice President Kamala Harris is clear-eyed as she condemned Iran’s October aerial attacks on Israel. In a public statement, Harris reiterated the US’ “unwavering commitment to the security of Israel.” The Democratic nominee echoed the Biden administration’s stance on the conflict, stating the “protection of US personnel in the region is paramount.”

On 1st October, Iran launched nearly 200 ballistic missiles at Israel as a response to the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. An IDF spokesperson said Israel will continue to “pursue Hezbollah and anyone who threatened Israeli citizens. Iran committed a serious act tonight [October 1st], pushing the Middle East towards escalation. We will act at the time and place we decide.”
US President Biden also reaffirms the US’ “full support” for Israel, elaborating that the two nations are “discussing what kind of response would be appropriate.”
